Jean grew up on the family farm in Ohio and according to the family was a real tomboy! Since the school was up the road, she played basketball with the boys. She graduated from the centralized high school in Concord, Ohio.
Jean had (or has) endocarditus and rheumatic fever (heart problems) and at one time they feared for her life. Retta, her mom, got a nurse for her and with a good doctor's care, she recovered. She does have arthritus, jsut like Retta.
Hur husband Thomas and she adopted a baby boy who was born in 1956, just as Jean was preganant with a daughter who died at birth. Later they adopted a baby girl. According to the family, Jean is like her mom in looks and temperament. They attend the Open bible Church in Pickway. Jean loves horseback riding, archery shoots and boating on Lake Erie.
Tom and Jean adopted Donald Thomas soon after his birth, and later, a daughter named Brenda.
