Walter Lowry Macurdy was the 1st child of John Lowrey Macurdy and the 1st child born to Annettie Thrower. Walter Lowry was born 25 May 1888 in Sarver, PA. Walter Lowry married Maude Elizabeth Hesselgesser on 25 Nov 1909 at the age of 21 and they had 4 children. Walter Lowry died 4 Dec 1946 at the age of 58.

From Nancy Sutton's notes:
Walter and Maude operated a farm in Sarver and was one of the first in the area to incorporate labor saving machinery, such as the tractor buckrake. Our family would occasionally get milk from them.
Uncle Walter was a large man with red hair and all four sons born to them were big boned. Walter and Maude were members of the Freeport Methodist Church.
They purchased farmland in/near Miami, Florida and some of the boys at various times went down to care for it. Gene was driving his Mom and Dad down (they often spent time in the winter there) when Walter died enroute in Cherow, South Carolina of a heart attack.
