Ruth Kennedy Goodbread Obituary:

Ruth K. Goodbread, 97, formerly of Butler, died Monday.

Born Feb. 18, 1907, in Swissvale, she was the daughter of Harry E. and Nellie Hesselgesser Kennedy.

After graduating from Slippery Rock State College, she was a teacher. She later was a clerk at the Butler County Treasurer's office.

She was a member of the First Methodist Church and formerly was the Sunday school superintendent at the Freeport Methodist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Ramona Gutierrez of Wheaton, Ill., and Mrs. Richard (Rachel) Honquest of Iverness, Ill.; a brother, Eugene Kennedy of Cabot; a sister, Mrs. Mae Plyler of Butler; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Raymond Goodbread, who died in 1960; and three sisters.
